How the buy-or-build ledger works

Recorded sales on one side, metro build estimates on the other, at this week's rate.

The inputs

You set city, size, and finish. The rate is the weekly 30-year mortgage rate. Lot cost and build cost per square foot are metro estimates until a parcel record is attached.

Iowa revenue stamps are not in this ledger. They belong on the seller's proceeds page.

The label

Every total on the ledger is an estimate, not a quote. A quote is a bid from a builder or a loan estimate from a lender. This page will not pretend to be either.
